It's tricky to answer this question without factoring both the team and capital. Unfortunately, inspite of writing a [[If I ran an agri business|post]] on running an agri-business, it doesn't answer the question. Lets go back to the drawing board. I don't belong or know much about the science of agriculture. My origins and [[Stumbling into founding a venture|travails]] into agri have been through the potential of logistics. Essentially being left with option of doing business model innovation. Launching a seed variety, novel inputs or affordable farm equipment all fall into functional innovation. ![[Primary Farming _Stakeholders Size.png]] There are three underserved componets in agriculture: 1. Farm Land - The artifically locked resource 2. Women Farmers - The backbone of Indian agriculture 3. Collectives - Community centred self- governance ![[Setup.png]] Each component of diagram has a different ecosystem enabling them. It is a symptom of "[seeing like a state](https://slatestarcodex.com/2017/03/16/book-review-seeing-like-a-state/)". There are seperste nodal agencies enabling women farmer collectives, piloting land leasing and forming FPC (farmer producer companies). They are set up to not collaborate inspite of action on the same set of farmers. The other limiting factor is region. Physical co-location is a must in their world view. The innovation that we can enable starts with creating different contracts within same network of farmers. Instead of leveraging mutual trust for commodity transaction, we use them for land leasing contract. ![[Contracts.png]] The FPC is setup to lease lands from farm-land owners with the aim of enlargening of farms. Dr. B R Ambedkar [[Making agriculture economical|wrote about it in 1917 and we are still struggling with it]]. The FPC then operationalises farming with group of women farmers for the season. In my travails there is enough anecdotal and academic evidence that women are faster change adopters. They view agriculture as an economical endeavour. And, they are collective in their approach to new farming techniques. Agriculture is distributed and so is our FPC. With the advent of digital communication tenchology(DTC), our FPC co-ordinating 100 distributed clusters simultaneously all tied with a common denominator, commodity or farmer. ![[Execution.png]] This model creates high leverage business with sufficient gross margins on any commodity. FPC becomes the entreprise that builds capital, innovates on production, represents farmers and consumes multiple services. I hope this answers your question.
